Dropface Coping Installation
Important instructions for the installation of Mitred Dropface coping
For Pool Tilers, please ensure the correct installation instructions below are followed closely to ensure the long life and safety of our Mitred Dropface coping tiles.
Do the directional arrows on the back of porcelain tiles mean anything?
Previously, porcelain tiles had limited colour faces, some plain and solid, requiring specific laying directions to achieve a certain look.
Directional arrows were used on the back of the tiles to indicate the best laying pattern.
With modern porcelain tiles, such as those supplied by The Pool Tile Company, mimicking natural stone so well, a random layout is now preferred to achieve a more organic look.
While the arrows are present in all moulds, they are now primarily used by the factory for cutting down tiles in specific sizes, patterns or colours, rather than being used as markers for tilers.
This change allows tilers more flexibility and freedom in their tile layout due to the quality and variety of patterns available.
So tilers can now safely disregard the arrows on the back of our porcelain tiles when laying.
